“My work as an educator, therapist and physician has led me to view mental health as a complex interplay of biologic systems and psycho-social factors. Therefore, effective treatment should be based on an integrated and multidisciplinary approach that addresses the needs of the individual and family. I believe my role as a psychiatrist is to act as a steward of safety, confidant and active participant in the treatment of the people I serve. My experience has led me to understand excellence in medical and mental health as a result of patient-physician communication, and the commitment to a shared vision of achieving a better quality of life.”
